How plastic bottles are recycled

Student answer (Band 5.0)

This Diagram Illustrate the Method of recycling the plastic bottles. This whole method Depends on 9 Different steps. Firstly When we use any Plastic ottle we should throw them in bin not at any corner of road or any empty plot. This is a first step is throw the plastic bottles in Trash bin, then garbage truck come to collect trash from all of Bins and he go back to his depot where he stored all of thses garbage and then Staff start doing there process of Collecting the plastics, rubber, metal and steels from garbage. after collecting all the plastic items from store they bring them to recycling Centre and start Compressing those items in Blocks. after pressing those platics and mak trhem in sqaure shaoe they Crush the whole plastics By using machine. after completing this process now plastic is in small particles then they wash it in very good way no germs left looks a like a new plastic. Then Start making its pellets by putting in machine after getting out those machine they put that raw Material in shape and then make the different products like plastic bottles, bags, pens lunch box, AC, TV Remotes and then start selling those products in market.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main stages from disposal and collection through sorting, compression, crushing, washing, pellet production and the creation of new products. However, the account is only partly accurate and does not provide a clear overview of the process as a closed recycling loop. It adds unsupported details, such as the truck taking waste to a depot, sorting rubber, metal and steel, and selling products in a market. It also misses the stage where pellets are heated to form raw material and the arrows showing that end products can return to the recycling bin. To improve, describe only what the diagram shows and summarise its overall cycle before giving the stages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response follows a broadly chronological order, and words such as “Firstly,” “then” and “after” help the reader follow the process. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, with several stages joined into extended sentences, so the progression is not always clear. Some links are repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “then” and “after,” and references such as “those items” and “those machine” are not always clear. Organise the account into an introduction and overview, followed by a clearly sequenced description of the stages. Use a wider range of accurate linking expressions and separate stages with full stops.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “recycling centre,” “compressing,” “crush,” “particles” and “pellets,” which helps communicate the general sequence. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal for an academic process description. For example, “garbage” and “trash” are repeated, while “no germs left looks a like a new plastic” is an unsupported and unclear description of washing. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “ottle,” “thses,” “platics” and “sqaure,” which make parts of the account harder to read. Use precise terms from the diagram, such as “sorting,” “washing” and “raw material,” and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect several stages using clauses, but sentence structures are often faulty, and many sentences run together without reliable punctuation. For example, “This is a first step is throw the plastic bottles in Trash bin” contains an incorrect clause structure, while “then garbage truck come to collect trash” has errors in articles and subject–verb agreement. Verb forms and agreement are also inconsistent in phrases such as “they bring them” and “they put that raw Material.” These errors frequently make the sequence difficult to follow. Use shorter, complete sentences, check articles and singular/plural agreement, and practise accurate passive forms such as “the bottles are collected” and “the plastic is washed.”
