Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response includes several relevant stages, including bottles being discarded, collected by trucks, sorted, compressed, crushed and washed, followed by pellet production and the creation of new items. The sentence identifying a “cyclical eight-stage process” also attempts to give an overview. However, the account is only a partial and sometimes inaccurate summary: the diagram shows nine numbered stages, and the response does not clearly explain that the finished products feed back into the cycle. It also says the fragments are “melt[ed]” to make pellets, whereas the diagram shows pellets being produced before they are heated into raw material. The opening discussion of pollution and disease is not a useful description of the process. Focus on an accurate overview and report the stages in their correct order.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic sequence in the central description, signalled by “and,” “then,” and “Next,” so a reader can follow some of the process. However, the response does not develop a clear overall progression: it begins with several disconnected claims about land pollution and disease, moves to the process, and then repeats stages at the end (“This can be useb in heating pellets…”). There are no paragraph breaks to distinguish an overview from the stage-by-stage account, and references such as “this” and “it” are unclear. Organise the response into a short introduction and overview, followed by stages in sequence. Use linking phrases selectively and avoid repeating information.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response attempts some task-related vocabulary, including “recycling centre,” “sorting,” “compress,” “crush,” “wash,” “pellets,” and “raw material.” These terms show awareness of the process, but the range is basic and repetition of “waste matrial” and “plastic matrial” limits precision. Frequent spelling errors, such as “resycled,” “diferent,” and “useb,” also make the account harder to read. Some word combinations are unclear, including “throw the ground” and “save land polution.” Choose precise process vocabulary and check spelling; for example, describe bottles as being “discarded in a recycling bin” and the products as “manufactured from recycled plastic.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response makes some attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, particularly the sequence beginning “Consumers discard used bottles into bins, and trucks haul them…” and the sentence describing later processing. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to control, as in “the plastic bottle and other plastic matrial can't throw the land” and “The recycle bin the waste matrial was an important in the life of human.” Articles, verb forms, agreement and sentence boundaries are frequently inaccurate, which sometimes obscures the intended meaning. Practise building clear simple sentences first, then combine stages with accurate passive forms, such as “The bottles are sorted, compressed and crushed.” Check that each sentence has a subject and a correctly formed verb.
