Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals believe that the compitition in school in daily life is a good thing, while other trust that the people should try to teamwork against to each other. in own my view, I agree with both statement because when people compitition to other people they enhance their thinking ability.

The first argument is that the people struggle with other individuals, then their mental ability is grow and they face the problem easily. The other benefit is that those people easily solve problem and build their confidance to communicate with other people. Furthermore, they learn the time management and calm when they win or lose their compitater. So it is beneficial for people. for example, when citizens play cricket with their opposite team they play calmly and handle the situation perfectly.

The second argument is that people should try to cooperate with their opposite team. The main benefit is that when people cooperate with other team, then many qualities develope in these people such as they help the week people and some give some advices to those people. The other is that the people do not querrel with their opposite team, whom they thought many skills and said more usefull skills to their teammate. For instance, when people play football with their opposite team, then they compromise to each other and play peacefully.

In conclusion, i completely argue with both statement, because both qualities are crucial for people. Then they help other and communicate to better to each other. Therfore, both qualities are preferable for individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question by discussing competition and cooperation, and your conclusion gives a position: you consider both qualities important. The examples of cricket and football are relevant, and you identify possible benefits such as confidence, time management and helping weaker teammates. However, the position is not fully clear in the introduction: “I agree with both statement” does not explain how the two approaches can work together or when each is preferable. Several points are asserted rather than explained, such as how competition improves problem-solving or how cooperation develops skills. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a specific example, and make your overall view consistent and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “The first argument,” “The second argument,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several benefits are listed without showing how they connect. For example, the competition paragraph moves from mental ability to confidence, time management and cricket in quick succession. Some linking expressions are also repetitive or awkward, including repeated uses of “The other” and “then.” Organise each body paragraph around one central claim, explain it, and then use the example to support that claim; clearer references to people and teams would also improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competition,” “cooperate,” “mental ability,” “time management” and “communicate.” These choices show that you can express the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts less clear. For example, “teamwork against to each other” does not express cooperation naturally, while “their opposite team” and “compitater” are inaccurate forms. There are also misspellings such as “confidance,” “develope” and “usefull.” Aim to learn topic vocabulary in natural phrases, such as “compete with one another” and “work as a team,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including conditional or time clauses beginning with “when,” and you use connectors such as “because” and “while.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement and articles. For instance, “their mental ability is grow” has an incorrect verb form, and “many qualities develope in these people” does not use the verb accurately. The opening sentence also has an unclear structure, while “I agree with both statement” has a number-agreement error. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
