Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people beleive that competition is neecessary in work, eduacation and daily life, while other argue that cooperation is more important, both views havestrong arguments and in my opiniona balance of both is needed but cooperation is more important in long term.
On the other hand, competation can motivate people to work harder and impotve themselve. When students compete for good grades, they work hard and give all there time to studies and get good grades then others. As well as when the employes compete for promotion, they try to perorm better. They generate new ideas in that way they get the promotion and company also gets the benefit. For examples many companies grow because they compete with other companies and offered better product to customers. Without competiton people may become lazy and cannot improve there work.
On the other hand supporters of cooperation argue that working togther brings better results then competition. In a school if a student work with each other they all get the good grades. They help each other instead of only thinking about their own marks everyone can get good grades because of competition. In workplace when team membersshare ideas and support each others difficult proble,ms can solved quick. Because of this there company grew and they get positive reviewabout there company and products in market. Futhermore competition helps everyone to stayed with eachother and this is the only key for the good work.
In my opinion although competition can be useful for motivaton, cooperation should be given more importance. In real life big achievements arethe resultsof competition.
In conclusion competition can push people to do their best but cooperation can creates a better and happier society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: competition can motivate people, but cooperation deserves greater importance over the long term. The examples about students, employees seeking promotion, and companies competing are relevant. However, the ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the position becomes unclear near the end: you say cooperation matters more, then write that “big achievements are the results of competition.” The cooperation paragraph also contains a confusing claim that students get good grades “because of competition,” despite the paragraph supporting teamwork. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and make sure your examples consistently support your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow, and linking phrases are repetitive or used inaccurately. Both main paragraphs begin with “On the other hand,” even though the first introduces competition and the second introduces cooperation. Connections such as “Because of this” and “Futhermore” do not clearly show how the ideas relate, while the final opinion introduces a claim that conflicts with the earlier position. Use topic sentences that signal each paragraph’s purpose, then connect each example explicitly to its main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “compete for promotion,” “generate new ideas,” “team members,” and “support each other.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main subject, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning harder to follow. For example, “stayed with eachother” does not clearly express the intended benefit of cooperation, and “positive reviewabout there company” is imprecise. Spelling errors such as “competation,” “improve,” and “Futhermore” are also noticeable. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “although competition can be useful for motivation, cooperation should be given more importance.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns as well as in more complex attempts. Examples include “other argue,” “a student work,” “difficult problems can solved,” and “cooperation can creates.” Some sentences also run together without clear punctuation, as in the opening and the workplace example, which makes relationships between ideas harder to understand. Practise subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence to ensure it has a complete and correctly formed structure.
