Student answer (Band 6.5)
The competition at work, at school, and in daily life is advantageous in some aspects, also the cooperation plays a crucial role in the improvement of day to day activities. In this essay, both of these views will be discussed and my opinion will be given below.
At first, competition is beneficial in different situations of life because it helps people to remain motivated and continue their perseverance. The peer pressure keeps us boosted to reach our goals. For instance, a student getting the highest mark in a test is always under pressure to reproduce the results due to competition. Similarly, in the work environment, the employees are given a target to reach their goals to secure the increment or promotion. This pressure drives them to fulfill their commitment to the organizations.
On the other hand, cooperation rather than competition is fruitful in some cases. The integration of activities not only increases the overall performance but also the efficiency of the tasks. A difficult task can be easily accomplished if everyone shares their ideas and efforts, which can be a burden if someone attempts to do it alone. Moreover, this attitude of helping and sharing improves the mental well-being of the people, by lowering their stress, and reducing the potential of severe diseases.
In conclusion, both competition and cooperation are necessary in our daily life because of their various positive outcomes depending on the scenario. We should exploit the pressure of competition to come out of our comfort zone and reach our destination easily, also, be cooperative to handle the gruesome tasks which seem impossible to complete alone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear overall view: competition and cooperation are both useful, depending on the situation. The examples about students seeking high marks and employees working towards promotion support the benefits of competition, while the shared-effort example explains why cooperation can help with difficult tasks. This meets the task well. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that cooperation lowers stress and reduces the potential for severe diseases needs clarification or evidence. Your conclusion also introduces the idea of reaching a destination “easily,” which is not fully supported by the preceding discussion. Develop these points more precisely to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that returns to your position. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and examples are placed with the relevant arguments. Some linking is less natural or precise, however. “At first” does not clearly signal the first argument, and the final sentence joins two recommendations with “also” in a way that makes their relationship awkward. The introduction’s promise that your opinion “will be given below” is also somewhat mechanical. Use transitions that express the exact relationship between ideas, and connect sentences through clearer referencing and explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “perseverance,” “peer pressure,” “integration,” “efficiency,” and “mental well-being.” These choices help you discuss motivation and teamwork, and the meaning is generally clear. Some less common expressions are not used naturally or precisely: “remain motivated and continue their perseverance,” “keeps us boosted,” and “fulfill their commitment to the organizations” sound awkward in context. “Gruesome tasks” also suggests something horrifying rather than simply difficult. Aim for more accurate collocations and choose vocabulary that matches the intended meaning. This would make your arguments sound more fluent and precise while preserving the useful range already present.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a conditional structure in “A difficult task can be easily accomplished if everyone shares their ideas and efforts” and a relative clause in “which can be a burden.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors and awkward constructions remain. For example, the opening sentence joins two independent ideas with a comma, and “The peer pressure keeps us boosted” has an unnecessary article and an unnatural grammatical construction. In the conclusion, “..., also, be cooperative” does not form a well-controlled parallel structure. Review sentence boundaries, articles, and the construction of coordinated recommendations. Greater accuracy across these structures would strengthen the response.
