Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people argue that contest at work place, or at study in routine life is better, while others disagree this statement and support the team work, mutual cooperation instead of competing one another. I firmly believe that a healthy competetion is compulasory among the worker and classmates because if you do not judge someone on their performance then how will you declare the rewards and punishments.

Most of citizens prefer that competition is necassary for personal and professional growth. It is important to have a scale for comparison for example if every one get the same perks at a company then no one will ever try perform better. Their must a difference between a hard worker and a lazy person. The rewarding system also motivate employees as well as students.

If you do not appreciate a students on good results, he or she must be discourge and will not achieve the goal in future. The statics had shown us the recieving good words or certifcates from supervisors, teachers have a postive impact on overall personality.

However, another groups criticize the first statement and oppose it on the grounds that working altogther may have different results because supporting each other will benifit the whole team. Team work may lead us to create better understanding, no leg pulling and jeoulsy will be involved. In place of compelling this will lead to create a suitable workplace envivornment.

Inconclusion, I strongly belief that good competition is necessaity of the time. We have to keep a balance between right and wrong. Although team work have some benifical effects but their must be a scale for judgement. Appreciation, rewards and punishments may gives us the direction for new discoveries, research and innovations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for healthy competition, especially in the opening and conclusion. The discussion of competition is relevant: rewards may encourage employees and students to perform better, and recognition can support motivation. You also explain that cooperation can improve team understanding and reduce jealousy. However, the two views are not developed equally: the cooperation paragraph makes broad claims but gives little explanation or a concrete example of how teamwork produces better outcomes. The argument that rewards and punishments are needed for judgement also narrows your position and could be explained more carefully. To strengthen the response, develop each view with a specific example and clarify how you would balance competition with cooperation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting competition, a paragraph presenting cooperation, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “However” and “Inconclusion” help signal the change in viewpoint and the ending. The main ideas are generally grouped appropriately, so the reader can follow the discussion. At times, though, connections between claims are abrupt: the point about equal company perks moves quickly to the distinction between hard workers and lazy people, without explaining the link. Some references, such as “the first statement,” are less direct than naming the view being discussed, and several sentences repeat the idea that rewards motivate. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and vary references to the two positions to make progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “personal and professional growth,” “rewarding system,” “mutual cooperation,” and “workplace environment.” These choices show an effort to discuss motivation and teamwork rather than relying only on basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural, as in “contest at work place,” “competing one another,” and “compulasory.” There are also misspellings such as “necassary,” “jeoulsy,” and “envivornment.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and proofread carefully; for example, use “competition in the workplace,” “compete with one another,” and “essential.” This would make your ideas clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if every one get the same perks… then no one will ever try perform better” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “every one get” needs a singular verb, “the rewarding system also motivate” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “Although team work have” also needs agreement. The sentence beginning “If you do not appreciate a students” has problems with the article and plural form. Practise checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and revise complex sentences to ensure their clauses are complete and correctly connected.
