Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some argued that working as a competator at job, at learning center and in daily life is beneficial. While others contend that people should work as a team and not complete each other. From my point of view, while challenging is a good form of nature to gain hidden personal skills and better personal outcome, working as a team can generate the better human ethic and contribution of achievement in work, school and in daily life.

First of all, some people eager to compete in daily life to wake up their inner energy of self ability. When a person choose to challenge someone at their school or their work, they must produce better skill than another person which could cultivate their hidden skills. For example, school tutors always mention who is top students in their class to push their pupils to compete each other and output their skillful compenticies. However, this competition is better for individual perspective.

The main view about the team work is that a group of people must follow the same rule to achieve better outcome. At work, each department have it's own rule to follow so that everyone has equal right. It can establish the better attitute. As a result, company targets and goals can achieve through different team members. For instance, some of the companies play the team bound game for all the staff to understand about the importance of cooperation. Which could lead them to hit the target of company yearly objective.

In conclusion, although completition is vital and can get a positive outcome of people skillful personl compentencie, I believe that working as a team across diversities in daily life, at school and at work is better.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and state a preference for teamwork in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of competition explains that it may bring out individual abilities, while the teamwork paragraph links cooperation with achieving company goals; these are relevant responses to the task. However, the ideas remain general and are not fully developed. The example about tutors identifying top students is brief, and the explanation of how competition improves skills could be clearer. Similarly, the company team-building example is mentioned but not shown in detail. Your position is present, but the reasons for preferring cooperation are only partly explained. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation of its effects and a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion, and phrases such as “First of all” and “For example” signal stages in the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking is occasionally mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, “Which could lead them to hit the target” is a sentence fragment rather than a clear continuation of the previous idea. The conclusion repeats the main contrast but does not bring the reasons together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make sure each paragraph develops one central point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “cooperate,” “cultivate,” “contribution,” and “objectives,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “working as a competator,” “not complete each other,” and “team bound game”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “compenticies,” “attitute,” and “completition.” Aim to use familiar words accurately before reaching for less common expressions, and check spelling and collocations. More precise terms for competition, teamwork, and personal development would make the argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, including the contrast in “While challenging is a good form …, working as a team can generate…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “When a person choose” needs subject–verb agreement, while “each department have” also has an agreement error. “Which could lead them…” is a fragment, and “some people eager to compete” is missing a verb. These issues sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check that every sentence has a complete main clause and that subjects agree with their verbs.
