Student answer (Band 6.5)
A few individuals believe that competition with colleagues and friends at work place, at school, and in their daily life is a great choice, while others think that people should support each other, rather than competing against. Both the views and my perspective will be discussed.
First and foremost, computation motivates people to perform better for greater performance. When individuals compete with others, that time they do hard work and improve their concepts for better performance than others people. For example, students often study hard and seriously to obtain higher marks in their exam than their classmates. As a result, people become more productive and confident for great result.
However, others believe that cooperation is more important because it helps them to enhance teamwork and communication among colleagues, leading to better results. When people work together by sharing each idea and supporting in difficulties that aid them to get greater results. For instance, when all the colleagues cooperate each other in their project then that support them to complete task more efficiently. Overall, by cooperation people can improve their teamwork and communication skills for better productivity.
In my opinion, individuals should do competition with each other so they can learn extra skills and do hard work to ameliorate result and also by this they can get more better future opportunities for their career.
In conclusion, although people can learn more skills by hardworking for better result, by cooperation people can share ideas and improve mutual understand with communication and teamwork for greater productivity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both competition and cooperation and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the arguments for competition (motivation, productivity) and cooperation (teamwork, communication) are relevant, they are presented in a repetitive manner. The personal opinion is stated clearly in the fourth paragraph, but it lacks depth and could have been better integrated into the overall structure. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your supporting examples with more specific detail rather than repeating the same general points about productivity and results.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. There is a basic progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'that time they do hard work' or 'by this they can get more better'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, summarizing points already made without adding a final synthesis of the two perspectives.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'great', 'hard work', and 'results' repeatedly. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice, such as using 'computation' instead of 'competition' and 'ameliorate result' which is slightly unnatural in this context. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is not yet sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'competing against' (missing an object), 'others people', 'cooperate each other' (should be 'cooperate with each other'), and 'more better'. These errors are persistent but do not generally impede communication. The control of articles and prepositions is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of comparative adjectives. Increasing the accuracy of your complex sentences will help you move up to a higher band.
