Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this time some people believe that in work,in school, and in life is compete each other is good thing but othere believe that we should not competing against each other and we should try to cooperate. In this essay i will discuss each side in ensuing paragraph along with my opinion.

On one hand, some people believe that competing each other is not thing we all help each other and we all have same success and we are not a jelous other. For example:- some people are coward so they not compare with eachother but in some cases parents are compete their child with other so the child are demotivated and they are in stress so for parents should not a compare their child in school with other.

On other hand, people are accept all challenges in life and they have no fear of anyone competition so they bravely compete their self with other in their life. For example:- people have think that if they compete with each other so they have experienced that and that help in their future life they have not fear a lossing their self during a competing each other.

In my opinion, people are compete in work,in during school time and in daily life when they are compete other person that is a boost there confidance.

To sum up competing other is good think but compete is for our win ,for to achieve a success not lossing other in competetion. The main competetion is with our self in our daily lide everyday we try to compete our self.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the prompt and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. For instance, the argument regarding competition in the second paragraph is confusingly phrased, mentioning 'coward' people and parental pressure in a way that does not clearly support the topic. The third paragraph attempts to discuss the benefits of competition but lacks specific, well-developed examples. The position is stated but lacks the depth and logical progression required for a higher band. To improve, you should focus on clearly explaining your main points with logical, step-by-step reasoning rather than listing fragmented ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the overall structure. However, the logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by unclear phrasing and a lack of cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are often missing or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'For example:-'. Referencing is sometimes ambiguous, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more coherent argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'compete each other' instead of 'compete with each other' and 'lossing their self'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'coward' in the context of competition. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express nuanced opinions on the topic. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and synonyms for basic words like 'good', 'bad', and 'compete', and practice using them in full sentences to ensure they are used in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people are compete'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'parents are compete their child'). Complex sentence structures are attempted but are almost always faulty, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of colons and hyphens. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the correct use of auxiliary verbs and verb forms. Proofreading your work for basic subject-verb agreement errors would also significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
