Student answer (Band 6.5)
some individuals believe that competition at work, at school and in daily life is a good thing. while others argue that we should try to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other. Although competition is a good thing, I believe that competition make person strong mentally.
Some people think competition is a good thing because it help them in many ways at work person gets influenced by coworkers regarding their postings like operator want to get manager post and manager want to get senior manager post so that their income also increase . At school students compete with each other to get first rank with good educational knowledge which is good thing if they're not comparing themselves with others they are not able to score more same as well as in daily life we are not influenced by other person's luxury and saturate our life then we will never adopt any new habits and culture which is necessary for good future.
Other believe that we should try to limit ourselves rather than comparing because they do not want unnecessary dramas in their life they believe that for surviving in this world mental peace is very important so that they spend their life smoothly. They do not want to improve their self they are happy with what they are that's why they are limiting their thinking .
In conclusion, I strongly support that competition is necessary for personal growth as well as great lifestyle without it we're not improving our habits and get restricted our selves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the explanation of competition in the workplace is quite narrow, focusing only on promotions, and the discussion of the opposing view (cooperation) is underdeveloped, relying on the assumption that those who prefer cooperation simply want to avoid 'dramas' or lack ambition. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples and explore the benefits of cooperation (such as teamwork or collective problem-solving) with the same depth as the arguments for competition.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and limited. Transitions between sentences are often missing or repetitive (e.g., 'same as well as in daily life'). The flow between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion is functional but lacks sophisticated linking words. To improve, try using a wider variety of cohesive devices such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'on the other hand,' or 'in contrast' to better connect your ideas and improve the overall progression of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good thing' and 'get' repeatedly. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'saturate our life' and 'get restricted our selves,' which hinder the natural flow of your writing. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations. For instance, instead of 'get manager post,' use 'attain a managerial position.' Expanding your vocabulary to include more specific terms related to professional and personal development will significantly enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'competition make person strong'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'they are not able to score more'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence boundaries and capitalization. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your message. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
