Student answer (Band 7.0)
With the growing population, societies are also growing and becoming more competitive in all sectors. There is an ongoing argument on this matter whether this type of competition should exist or not at places like schools or in our daily life. In my opinion I believe that there should exist positive competition between fellows. Both the view will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs with logical reasons and examples.
Existence of a positive competition in a society or in daily life plays vital role in growth. Because of this type of competition, people develop the urge of constant upgradation of their self due to fear of lagging behind the others. For example, being positively competitive in business leads to greater product development and ultimately enhancing public experience. Competitiveness in schools help students and motivate them to achieve higher goals in their career. Students being competitive it lead them to practice more for exams and attain higher level of education in a particular subject.
Excessive competition in any fields kills creativity and result into poor social relations. In schools it is quite necessary that students learn and grow in a collaborative environment where they help each other. This type of competition affects society on moral level separating individuals by seeing them as competitors. For instance, being too competitive students see their fellow learners as more of a competitor then a friend or a fellow learner, this affects their learning path in a positive environment.
In conclusion, in the places like schools, should make learning environment positively competitive that motivates them to explore more on their career while we should not be too competitive that let us as society downgrade our morals in daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both the benefits of competition and the value of cooperation. You clearly state your position in the introduction, which is maintained throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of business innovation and the potential for social friction in schools. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the point about 'moral level' in the third paragraph is a bit vague and could have been expanded with a more concrete example. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained and linked back to the prompt's core tension between competition and cooperation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'For example', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, some transitions between sentences within paragraphs are abrupt, such as the shift from business to schools in the second paragraph. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow and help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'upgradation', 'collaborative environment', and 'competitive'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'constant upgradation of their self' (should be 'self-improvement') and 'result into' (should be 'result in'). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, these occasional inaccuracies prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on learning natural collocations and refining your use of academic terminology to ensure your writing sounds more precise and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'Both the view will be discussed' (should be 'Both views'), 'Students being competitive it lead them' (a run-on/fragment issue), and 'in the places like schools, should make' (missing subject). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically complete to improve your accuracy.
