Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under-length at only 97 words, failing to meet the 250-word minimum requirement. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you mention both competition and cooperation, the ideas are severely underdeveloped and the response cuts off abruptly mid-sentence. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with specific examples and ensure you provide a full, balanced discussion of both perspectives followed by a clear conclusion. The current lack of development prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is a basic attempt at paragraphing, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to assess the overall logical progression. Cohesive devices are used in a very limited and repetitive manner, such as 'On one hand'. To improve, you need to use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'conversely', 'consequently') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and supporting details.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying on simple terms like 'good things' and 'very important'. There is little evidence of the range required for higher bands. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary such as 'rivalry' and 'cooperate', but these are not supported by a sufficient range of collocations or sophisticated phrasing. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and academic collocations to express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The text contains several grammatical errors, such as 'people taking competition... is a good things' (subject-verb agreement) and 'its helps us' (incorrect pronoun usage). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and the incomplete final sentence. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence construction before attempting more complex structures. Ensure you proofread for basic errors in articles and verb forms.
