Student answer (Band 6.5)

From ages, humans have been working hard for earning wealth and for the purpose of inovation. In modern days, when technology evolving and every person or organization trying to do better than their rivals but some groups still works as a team for more effective and faster outputs. For this reason I have some opinions for both type of people.

Firstly, those who always try to compete with their opponents and put their maximum efforts to stand out for the the end results are the most extrovert persons. Some organizations also doing this thing because they wanted to expand their businesess by inovating better than their rivals. For example, some tech giants working on developing semiconductor's size small for efficient results and in this race every company is trying their best to invent the all time greatest semiconductor and chips which are currently using by artificial intelligence systems, drones, robots etc.

Secondly, some companies making colabs for working together for best results and they believe that this collaboration can increase their outcomes and wealth. They shares technologies and man power to boost their productivity and they ultimately wins the customers trust by providing unexpected goods or services. For example, some telecom companies making collaborations for providing services to users where one company was once not reachable but the second company was already their so with their relationship now they are sharing their signals to all the people.

In conclusion, I reach to this point that both type of opinions are correct if we take them positively. However, some nations still confused rather they should accept this or not because they always consider the competion as negative aspect but in many developed countries humans have been taking advantages of both types

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples, such as the tech industry and telecom companies, the analysis remains superficial. For instance, the conclusion is vague and does not clearly articulate your final stance on which approach is superior or how they should be balanced. To achieve a higher band, ensure that your opinion is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the body paragraphs with more depth and critical reflection.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between 'some nations' and the previous arguments is weak. To improve, try to use a wider range of cohesive devices and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more sophisticated progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'innovation', 'semiconductor', and 'productivity'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'inovation' (innovation), 'businesess' (businesses), 'colabs' (collaborations), and 'their' instead of 'there'. These errors are noticeable but do not generally impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure accurate spelling and collocation. Avoid informal abbreviations like 'colabs' in an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'some groups still works', 'some organizations also doing this thing') and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with apostrophes (e.g., 'semiconductor's size'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your score significantly.
