Student answer (Band 6.0)
Its been seem that most of the people now in our especially in our young generation see everything as a competition weather its in studies, working, offices, and many other sectors of life rather then just cooperating or learning from each other. Both of these have aspects have their own importance and benefits in their mediums.
Its in a human nature that he works harder for the victory our human mind tends ourselves towards it and seek of victory most of the students work harder in a competition to achive the higher position then their other classmate its actually a good thing to push the students until their competition moves towards the negative side like most students starts getting jealous of others who are better then them and it gives birth to negative thoughts in their minds which causes fights bullying and many more. Unlike in offices the employees get jealous of their colleagues who are performing better then them or the one's at the higher rank this spread negetivity and causes inferiority complex among the people.
On the other hand being cooperative is a better thing because if we cooperate with each other we will get to learn a lot of thing we can work on our mistakes help others who are weak students who are weak in studies should help the weak ones and in offices the seniors can help their colleagues to perform better with out any sort of competition and jealousy just being kind with each can help us improve our society with cooperation so no one stays behind and it will end crimes poverty and faliures

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, though the position is somewhat implicit rather than clearly stated in the introduction. The ideas are relevant, but the development is limited. For example, the discussion on competition focuses heavily on the negative aspects (jealousy, bullying) without fully exploring the potential benefits mentioned in the prompt. Similarly, the section on cooperation is a bit idealistic, suggesting it will end 'crimes, poverty and failures,' which lacks depth and logical support. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a balanced, well-reasoned argument with concrete examples rather than over-generalising.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into three paragraphs, which is a logical structure for this task. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and often mechanical. There is a lack of transition words between sentences, making the flow feel somewhat disjointed. For instance, the transition between the discussion of competition and cooperation is abrupt. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'it' in the second paragraph, which does not clearly refer back to a specific antecedent. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore,' 'conversely,' 'consequently') would significantly enhance the logical progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good thing' and 'better thing,' and some word choices are imprecise or non-standard, such as 'weather' instead of 'whether' and 'faliures' (spelling error). The essay would benefit from more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'incentivise,' 'collaborative environment,' or 'detrimental effects.' While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and occasional spelling errors limit the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('most students starts'), punctuation errors (lack of full stops leading to run-on sentences), and awkward phrasing ('Its been seem that'). The misuse of 'its' instead of 'it is' or 'it's' occurs throughout. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundaries and basic subject-verb agreement would be a great starting point for improvement.
