Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that competition encourages performance and cooperation helps solve problems, these points could be expanded with more detailed examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion introduces new, more sophisticated vocabulary ('stimulate innovation', 'diverse perspectives') that was absent in the body paragraphs, which suggests that the main arguments could have been articulated with greater depth. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims rather than just listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'However', and 'For example'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are issues with punctuation, such as missing spaces after periods (e.g., 'LIFE.WHILE', 'STAGE.FOR'), which disrupts the flow of the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your punctuation is accurate to help the reader navigate your arguments more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good thing' and 'easy'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'EASSY', 'PEOPLES', 'BELIVE', 'NECCESARY', and 'WETHER'. While the meaning is clear, these errors and the limited range of vocabulary prevent a higher score. Incorporating more precise academic collocations and ensuring correct spelling will significantly improve your lexical profile.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('student at school have', 'one sometime have'), pluralization ('every ones' life'), and word forms ('coordinating' vs 'coordinateing'). Punctuation is also a significant issue, with many missing spaces after full stops and inconsistent capitalization. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to affect the overall clarity and professionalism of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for punctuation will help.
