Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 162 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both sides of the argument, the discussion is superficial and lacks the depth required for an Academic Task 2 essay. You state your preference for cooperation, but the supporting arguments are repetitive and lack specific, relevant examples. To improve, you must expand your points with clear explanations and concrete illustrations, ensuring you fully explore the implications of both competition and cooperation in the contexts mentioned (work, school, and daily life).
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the paragraphs are not logically organized. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'this think' or 'each to another'. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences do not flow logically from one to the next. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and practice using linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to connect your ideas more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. You frequently use incorrect word forms, such as 'good think' instead of 'good thing' and 'make cooperate' instead of 'cooperate'. There is a lack of academic vocabulary; for example, you use 'eatable thinks' instead of 'food' or 'provisions'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. To improve, focus on learning collocations and academic synonyms for common words. Avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay and try to use more precise terminology related to the topic of social interaction and professional environments.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, and word order (e.g., 'Most people teach that you are fight each other'). Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, making them difficult to parse. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb-object patterns. You should also work on using articles (a/an/the) and prepositions correctly, as these are currently missing or misused throughout your writing.
