Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, significantly impacting the development of ideas. While the prompt asks to discuss both views and provide an opinion, the essay is underdeveloped and lacks depth. The arguments provided, such as 'competing get to many goals', are simplistic and lack supporting evidence or logical expansion. The position is stated but not clearly sustained throughout the text. Due to the severe lack of length and the superficial nature of the arguments, the response does not adequately address the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear organizational structure. There is no logical progression of ideas, and the paragraphing is non-existent or inappropriate. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often inaccurate, such as the disjointed transition 'For example some people, one hand we are competing'. The lack of clear linking words makes the text difficult to follow, and the ideas appear as a series of disconnected sentences rather than a cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and word form, such as 'good think' instead of 'good thing' and 'a cooperate' instead of 'cooperate'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the misuse of common words often impedes the reader's understanding. There is no attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS Task 2 essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There are frequent errors in sentence structure, punctuation, and basic grammar, such as 'The competition is a good in think' and 'competing get to many goals'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are consistently problematic. The lack of complex sentence structures and the high frequency of errors make the text difficult to read and understand at times.
