Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of competition for personal growth and the potential social drawbacks. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on cooperation is brief compared to the section on competition. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that both viewpoints are explored with equal depth and provide more nuanced examples. The position is consistent, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly explained to demonstrate a deeper level of critical thinking.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'Most of the case at our life'. The transition between the benefits of competition and the drawbacks could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, using terms like 'logical thinking capabilities', 'competitive world', and 'social skills'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'cooperative minded', 'up skills there skillset', and 'competition happens not for themself'. These errors occasionally make the text feel unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that you use the correct word forms (e.g., 'themselves' instead of 'themself'). Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terms would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('others has different mind') and article usage ('at our life', 'at corporate engineering life'). Additionally, there are issues with sentence construction, such as 'Competition make us to do the task'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not fully impede communication. Increasing your control over basic grammar and punctuation will help you achieve a higher score.
