Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you mention the benefits of competition and cooperation, the supporting arguments are often vague or lack logical depth. For instance, the paragraph on competition mentions doctors and engineers but does not clearly link these to the broader concept of competition versus cooperation. The conclusion is also somewhat disconnected from the body paragraphs, as it introduces the idea of 'drawbacks' which were not explicitly discussed in the main text. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea supported by a clear example.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between and within them is often weak. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'In other hand' and 'A wide range number of Filipinos'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. While there is an attempt to use transition signals, they are not always used appropriately to connect ideas effectively. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and often inaccurate. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'fast-pace world' (fast-paced), 'prosperous person' (used incorrectly), and 'faught the poverty' (fought). You attempt to use some academic vocabulary, but the lack of precision often obscures your intended meaning. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form. Expanding your range of vocabulary beyond basic terms will also help you express your ideas with more nuance and precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('Many people have arguments... is a rewarding'), sentence structure ('so they are feel more under pressure'), and word forms ('it should necessary'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often grammatically incorrect. The majority of your sentences contain errors, which prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
