Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both competition and cooperation before providing a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as the mention of students studying for exams and the global cooperation during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the development of some points is slightly brief. To reach a higher band, you could expand further on how these concepts manifest in 'daily life' as mentioned in the prompt, rather than focusing primarily on professional and academic settings. Overall, the position is clear and maintained throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two opposing views. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition to this', and 'To recapitulate' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the phrase 'Both the cohorts have different suggestions base on their perspectives', which is slightly awkward. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, though some transitions could be more sophisticated to improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some flexibility. Phrases like 'burn mid night oil', 'segregating responsibilities', and 'contemporary time' show an attempt to use less common items. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'outperform from others' (should be 'outperform others') and 'cooperated with each' (should be 'cooperated with each other'). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on more precise collocations will enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'it is good thing' (missing article 'a'), 'improves performance of person' (missing article 'a'), and 'collaborating different insights' (should be 'by collaborating on' or 'using'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there is a spacing error in the conclusion ('To recapitulate ,I'). While the meaning is always clear, the frequency of these minor errors suggests that a band 6.0 is the most accurate descriptor, as the control of complex structures is not yet consistent enough for a 7.0.
