Student answer (Band 6.5)
Most of human beings have this perception of being better than everyone, therefore creating immense competition among there own peers. This not only takes place at school or workplace but also daily life. Some may argue that it is a good thing as it might filter out professionals in a particular field, while also forgetting to be supportive among the people. I will give opinions on both side of this statement.
On the one hand, competition can be beneficial in business sectors as it pushes the limits of people to improve the inventions already invented by mankind. For instance, few years ago, google being the only search engine was doing wonders, but it did lacked accuracy, and cross-platform availability among all the electronic devices on a software level, such as ios, android, and window's environments. Looking at this, Microsoft launched its own search engine named "Bing", which was not only more accurate that google but also was available in various platforms. However, this sparked sense of jealousy in google company, dragging itself towards a fierce competition of providing the similar features as Bing did, but with better accuracy and more features to it. Two months later, google upgraded their search engine, which was more optimized and provided an additional section of searching image of any object on the earth. This was very simple, but without fierce competition I don't think google would have achieved this level of success over the years.
On the other hand, considering the same example above, instead of competing if google and Microsoft would have supported each other, therefore, come up with an idea to create something that both companies' were good at, we could have gotten something way better. For example. recently, apple was really struggling with their artificial intelligence model names siri, which did not work upto the mark specially in their newer iPhones. Looking at this, google reached out to propose a collaboration between these two companies. Google proposed that, it would give some of the feature and data of its own artificial intelligence model, which will be a huge help to apple, and then apple can promote google's name in there device as well. They worked it out, and Siri is one of the best AI models to interact with phones among all the other devices right now. To me, it sounds like a huge achievement. Moreover, google also got its name promoted during the apple launch event.
In conclusion, I would like to say that, while fierce competition may end up getting a better outcome, filtering out something for better products, but also creates a toxic enviornment and makes it less humane for human beings to live in that enviornement. But, supporting each other has great benefits where it gives new perspective to both the parties supporter and the suporteee.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both competition and cooperation with a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and supported by specific examples from the technology sector. However, the development is slightly uneven; while the competition argument is well-illustrated, the cooperation argument relies on a specific example (Apple/Google) that feels somewhat anecdotal. To reach a higher band, ensure that the analysis of the 'daily life' aspect mentioned in the introduction is more thoroughly explored, as the essay focuses almost exclusively on corporate competition.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two opposing views. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Moreover' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'this sparked sense of jealousy in google company'). Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is sufficient for the task, allowing for some flexibility and precision. You use topic-specific terms like 'artificial intelligence model' and 'cross-platform availability' effectively. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'enviornment' (repeated) and 'suporteee,' which slightly detract from the professional tone. While you demonstrate an ability to use less common items, the control is not yet fully consistent, placing this in the Band 6.5-7.0 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'google being the only search engine was doing wonders, but it did lacked accuracy' (incorrect verb tense) and 'there own peers' (incorrect pronoun). Punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary apostrophe in 'window's' and 'companies'', are also present. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent proofreading for minor mechanical errors would improve your accuracy.
