Student answer (Band 6.0)
These days, competition at several field is growing. While some people believe that competition at work, at school and in daily life is a good thing, others claim that we should try to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other. I think in most cases cooperating more with others is more effective
On the one hand, competition plays a vital role in developing excellence and innovations. For example, students compete with others for their better and significant grace marks, such aspects support in better result in their performance. Additionally, competition is essential for new innovation and creativity. Such creativity support to grow stronger and repetition.
On the other hand, cooperation plays a significant role in teamwork and unity. For example, working in group support in building significant relationship with each other. Additionally, it saves time period and reduce stress for doing heavy task. It exceed multiple task and promote fairness. Instead of building a classmates as enemies it promotes unity and teamwork.
In my opinion, cooperation is ultimately more valuable than competition. While friendly rivalry can keep life exciting, a hyper-competitive mindset often leaves people feeling isolated and discouraged. True human progress relies on our ability to unite and help one another. Therefore, schools and workplaces should focus on building strong teams, while using competition only as a light, fun tool to boost energy. In conclusion, both competition and cooperation have a place in our daily lives. Competition encourages us to do our personal best, while cooperation allows us to achieve great things as a group. To build a happier and more successful world, we must learn to value helping each other over simply beating the competition.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both competition and cooperation and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding competition leading to 'repetition' is unclear, and the explanation of how cooperation 'exceeds multiple tasks' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete, well-explained examples. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, as it restates points already made in the body paragraphs rather than synthesizing them into a final, nuanced thought. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of analysis could be improved.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Therefore' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is a bit disjointed, such as the transition between the benefits of teamwork and the claim that it 'exceeds multiple tasks.' The use of referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within the second paragraph could be smoother to ensure that each point builds effectively upon the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'vital role,' 'hyper-competitive,' and 'innovations.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'several field' (should be 'several fields'), 'significant grace marks' (unnatural phrasing), and 'building a classmates as enemies' (grammatically incorrect). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Such creativity support' instead of 'supports') and incorrect pluralization ('several field'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are minor issues with spacing and sentence structure. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but the frequency of these small errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb endings and plural forms, would significantly enhance the quality of your writing.
