Student answer (Band 6.0)
At the present day, competition are very common between individuals because it makes the individual hardworker and gives motivations in life. Many people say that competetion among colleagues and classmates is good habit while, some people think that cooperate more is the most important thing than competition. In this essay I will look at both sides of argument and will give my opinion.
Firstly, competiton gives more achievements in individual life where a Student put their extra time in the task to achieve better and better results. To illustrate this point, if two students participate in the cricket match so, they feel pressure to become winner, due to this reason they put their more efforts which make them better cricketer. So competition increases the skills, ability to think and patience level to success in task.
On other hand, cooperation develop the unity among individuals. For example, when office workers work together, they are able to share ideas, support each other and analyse the weak points of other person. Secondly, In covid-19the scientist from different countries work together online to develop vaccines quickly. However cooperation makes good understanding between people and increases the ability to undestand each other.
In my opinion, competetion at sports, schools gives better grades and increase personal achievements but I firmly believe that cooperation is more valuable because it learns you a lot of things like time management, solving large scale problems, teamlead as well as communication skills where you can share your point of views to each other.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like cricket and the COVID-19 vaccine, the explanation of how these relate to the broader concepts of competition and cooperation is brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more depth and analysis. The position is consistent throughout, but the conclusion could be more robust by synthesising the arguments rather than just listing skills. Overall, the task requirements are met, but the depth of discussion is at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On other hand', and 'In my opinion' to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'On other hand' (missing 'the') and 'So competition increases' (which is a weak transition). Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the logical progression within paragraphs is smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different views.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'competetion' (repeatedly), 'hardworker', and 'teamlead'. You rely on common, simple vocabulary like 'good habit', 'better and better', and 'things'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'colleagues', 'achievements', and 'analyse', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, and ensure you proofread for basic spelling mistakes, which occur frequently enough to be noticeable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('competition are', 'scientist... work'), missing articles ('in individual life', 'in cricket match'), and awkward phrasing ('it learns you a lot of things'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction, such as the comma splice in the second paragraph. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and article usage.
