Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people claim that competition is a good thing for the students at the school level, work places and in daily life pursuits. Other people reject this notion by a suitable idea and argue that we should pay attention to cooperation rather than compete to each other. In my opinion, the latter preposition appears to be more rational and logical and I shall explain it with a suitable reason and also draw a conclusion for it.
On the one hand, some people think that competitions have advantages for the people who are currently working in the offices. In addition, these people struggle for their promotion through competitions which is beneficial for them with respect to designation, wages and monthly rewards. Likewise, at school level, children have direct benefit due to these competitions because they struggle more and more and give their 100% to achieve positions in their classes which would ultimately benefit not for those but also for the prosperity of their country.
On the other hand, some people reject all these former ideas by claim that cooperation must be imperative to pursue anything in life. Nevertheless, they believe that some community members are not intelligent and don't have enough ideas and sense to tackle and sort out the troubles regarding their lives, at this time they need a cooperation rather than competition. A prime instance is my neighbor who lives hand to mouth nowadays and requires some cooperation in the company in which he works. The cooperation may be related to the money and sometimes promotion.
To put in brief, though competition is vital in someone's life but cooperation is more crucial because in our society some people are looking for aid not for competition.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the benefits of competition are mentioned, the explanation regarding cooperation is slightly underdeveloped and relies on a very specific, anecdotal example of a neighbor rather than a broader societal or professional perspective. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your arguments with more generalized reasoning and deeper analysis of the implications of both competition and cooperation in various contexts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To put in brief'. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, such as 'by a suitable idea' or 'by claim that'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between the neighbor's situation and the broader argument about cooperation could be more smoothly integrated.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'latter preposition' (instead of 'proposition' or 'viewpoint') and 'struggle more and more'. Phrases like 'give their 100%' are slightly informal for an academic essay. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context to convey your meaning more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'compete to each other' (should be 'compete with each other'), 'benefit not for those but also' (should be 'benefit not only those but also'), and 'by claim that' (should be 'by claiming that'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions.
