Student answer (Band 5.0)
Few people think that competition at work, at school and in daily life is a good thing, other believe that we should try to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other both views have their own value if we think about competition, it is a very good thing to improve things by comparison between different groups at school or at workplace, people doing work properly with proper hard working.
If we think about the option of cooperate rather than competition it is also a good option for a people because some people like to work with cooperation, they think work with cooperation less burden during at workplace.
In my opinion, competition is a good option to work on anything properly on time. And it a good option to comparison between the work of different groups. People complete their work with their excellent albites.
i have one example regarding this essay, when i was in taught in secondary school in my 9th class there are many competitions held in school between different group of classes. know about that one competition on arts and making different diagrams of science book like the picture of chromosomes, ribosomes and mitochondria with the class group of 10th class. School competition held committee also cash price for winner team. So, after few day competition held our class group doing very good work with hard working and won the competition.
In conclusion, everything has their own quality, so doing hard work with a competition or with a cooperation both things are good to make anything easy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments for competition and cooperation are presented in a very simplistic manner, lacking depth or nuanced analysis. The example provided about the school competition is relevant but is narrated in a way that lacks clear connection to the broader debate. The conclusion is brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed explanations and logical reasoning rather than just stating that something is a 'good option'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often disjointed. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices to link sentences and arguments logically. For instance, the transition between the discussion of competition and the personal example is abrupt. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall progression of the argument is repetitive. To achieve a higher score, you need to use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. Words like 'good', 'work', and 'option' are used frequently, often in ways that are not precise. There are also errors in word formation, such as 'albites' (likely meaning 'abilities') and 'price' (likely meaning 'prize'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on learning synonyms and collocations related to the topic of work and education to improve your precision and variety.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede the flow of reading. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and comma splices (e.g., 'Few people think that competition... other believe that we should...'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While you attempt some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic sentence construction makes it difficult to convey your meaning clearly. Focusing on mastering simple, error-free sentences before attempting more complex structures would be a beneficial strategy for your development.
