Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have a different view regarding competition like some believe that challenging other at work or in a school is a good things. While others aruge that we should try to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other.I partially agree with this statement because both are necessary in life and its totally depends on the situation.Like in some places competing with others is benefical for people. This essay will discuss both perspective and present a logical conclusion.
To begin with the primary arguments in a favour of competition. In some places involving themselves in a challenging situation is valuable for learners. Such as in schools, if the students competing with others learners then definitely their academic growth occurs more quickely. This is largely because students mind work more faster in competiting situation. A clear example of this is found in a survey, when academic authority conducted a study of students who achieved low marks in exam then they involved each learners in competition with others students for improving their growth. As a result everyone got higher marks in examination.
However, some people belief in cooperation rather than competition because in some places cooperation work better that is why people have a different belief. From team work or with the support of someone often a person achieve a higher level of success. A clear example of this is a TATA company introduced by Ratan TATA, by the support of his brother. This organization make billion of dollars nowadays. Although in starting years both brother were faced serious trouble .But by the supports of both of them now the company annual turnover is 10 billion dollar. This clearly explain the benefits of working together.
In conclusion, Both are necessary for the growth of a person. But its totally depends on us that what we choice.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the benefits of competition and cooperation, the supporting examples—such as the vague reference to a 'survey' or the specific mention of the TATA company—lack depth and analytical connection to the prompt. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of 'why' and 'how' these concepts function in the real world, rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'However', and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, some sentences are linked awkwardly, such as 'This organization make billion of dollars nowadays. Although in starting years both brother were faced serious trouble.' Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring better pronoun referencing would help achieve a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'academic growth', 'annual turnover', and 'cooperation'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'challenging other' instead of 'challenging others', 'mind work more faster' instead of 'minds work faster', and 'what we choice' instead of 'what we choose'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that word forms (nouns, verbs, adjectives) are used accurately in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('students mind work', 'organization make') and incorrect verb tenses ('both brother were faced'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and tense consistency.
