Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention exams like JEE and NEET, the explanation of why competition is beneficial remains somewhat superficial. The counter-argument regarding cooperation is also underdeveloped, lacking concrete examples or deeper analysis. To improve, you should expand on your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments rather than simply listing examples. Your position is clear, but the overall depth of the discussion is insufficient for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Firstly', their usage is occasionally mechanical or repetitive. The transition between the discussion of competition and the counter-argument is abrupt. Additionally, the conclusion is quite brief and does not effectively synthesise the arguments presented in the body paragraphs. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms and repeat words such as 'competition', 'school', and 'important' frequently. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'prepration' instead of 'preparation', 'collages' instead of 'colleges', and 'imporatant'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use a wider variety of synonyms and more sophisticated collocations. Focusing on accurate spelling and using more precise academic vocabulary will help convey your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include 'Other argue' instead of 'Others argue', 'school organise' instead of 'schools organise', and 'over a competing each other'. There are also issues with article usage ('a best thing') and subject-verb agreement. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a lack of control over more complex structures. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent verb forms will help improve your score in this area.
