Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under-length, containing only 89 words against the 250-word requirement. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While the introduction attempts to outline both views and state a position, the essay stops abruptly after one sentence of the first body paragraph. The ideas are not developed, and the second viewpoint and the conclusion are entirely missing. This failure to meet the minimum length and the lack of development for the required points severely limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt at an introduction and a transition to a body paragraph using 'On the one hand', the lack of subsequent content makes it impossible to assess the overall coherence. The structure is incomplete, and there is no evidence of cohesive devices beyond the initial opening phrase. The response fails to provide a coherent argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'competing with each other' and 'positive approach' are functional but lack the range required for higher bands. There are minor errors in word choice, such as 'educational institutes in a daily basis', which should be 'on a daily basis'. The limited length of the text prevents the demonstration of a wider range of vocabulary or the use of less common lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains several grammatical errors, such as the incorrect use of 'in a daily basis' and awkward punctuation, including a space before a comma and a missing space after a period. The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the essay is too brief to showcase a range of complex grammatical structures. While the meaning is generally clear, the errors and the lack of structural variety are noticeable.
