Student answer (Band 6.0)
Several individuals believe that competition at their workspace , at school and in their daily life is the right thing. Others believe that we should to be more cooperative rather than being competitive against each other . There are several reasons for this beliefs however , in my opinion, i believe in the cooperation rather than competition.
On one hand , competition at our regular life is the right thing because serves a catalyst for resislence and pushing one to improve in the areas they are somewhat lacking . It is in human nature to want to win in any competition and this also encourages them to push themselves in any way they can in order to achieve it, if not they would somewhat slack in area they are in and it can serve as a benefit to overcome other similar obstacles in the future . For example teachers given a quiz on a subject and the student with the highest score wins a prize . Such competition would encourage students to study more for the next time they have a quiz like that ,thereby improving in their studies.
On the other hand , cooperation is essential to prevent conflict and achieving tasks quickly . When there is competition there could be conflict depending on the indvidual in the environment however , with coperation people can share ideas amongsts themselves , support and uplift each others point and views in a given task and also reduce workload that are assigned to them selves easily .For example ; setting a board meeting for staff members on a discussion on the project they are to analyse . Through this meeting members can cooperate to easily solve a problem their might be having on particular report without resulting to conflicts.
In conclusion , Resislence are one of the benefits of competion however , preventing conflicts and achieving task quickly are the reasons for cooperation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that competition builds resilience and cooperation prevents conflict, the supporting examples are brief and could be expanded with more depth to fully explore the implications of these concepts. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and merely restates the points rather than synthesising them. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of 'why' and 'how' these concepts function in the real world.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the awkward phrasing 'thereby improving in their studies' or the repetitive use of 'however' as a connector. Additionally, some sentences are slightly disjointed, and the flow between ideas could be smoother with more varied linking words and better referencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'catalyst', 'resilience', and 'workload'. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'resislence', 'coperation', 'indvidual', 'amountsts') and some awkward collocations (e.g., 'regular life' instead of 'daily life', 'uplift each others point'). To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and using more precise collocations to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('teachers given a quiz'), incorrect preposition usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., unnecessary spaces before commas and semicolons). The use of articles is also inconsistent. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of complex sentence structures.
