Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under-length at only 132 words, which prevents the development of the argument. While the essay introduces both sides of the competition versus cooperation debate, the discussion is incomplete. The second paragraph is cut off mid-sentence, and the essay fails to provide a clear personal opinion or a conclusion. Because the response does not meet the minimum word count requirement and fails to address all parts of the prompt (specifically the requirement to provide an opinion), it falls into the lower band range. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words and fully develop each point with supporting examples and a clear stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay attempts to use basic cohesive devices such as 'To start with' and 'Along with this', but the logical flow is severely disrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall structure or the progression of ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'that offer', which is left hanging. To achieve a higher score, you need to complete your thoughts, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence, and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'growing and fast world' and 'work oriented world' are somewhat unnatural. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'corporation' used in place of 'the corporate world' or 'business'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more clearly and professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains several grammatical errors that impede clarity. For example, 'the we should support' contains an unnecessary article, and 'every student equally learned and practice' shows inconsistent verb tense usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and the lack of completion in the final sentence makes it difficult to assess your ability to use complex structures. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage. You should also practice combining simple sentences into more complex ones using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
