Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that there will be a positive development if there is competition at workplace, at educational institution and in daily routine. Whereas, helping each other is a good thing some argue. I will discuss both views along with my opinion in the forthcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, the main reason for this is that a healthy competition leads to innovation. Therefore, creative mind will experiment something different if he finds competition in the market. A good example of this can be seen a Dyson, there are several product related to hair care that already exist in the market they focus on what else they can do different to compete with them and they launch there heatless gadgets.
On the other hand, competition is not good when there is teamwork. Cooperation plays a crucial role if there is a group work. If everyone in the team starts competing against each other they cannot work together toward the shared vision they have to achieve. For this reason, people who are working towards achieving shared goals should help each other so that everyone will be on same page at final stage. Another key benefit of cooperation is that companies by joining hands can work towards the protection of the environment by opening programs that saves our neighbourhood from the impact of industrialization.
In conclusion, although competition plays a vital role in the development of the innovative things in the market but, cooperation is a sense where people feel belong. By helping each other we will continue to share a sustainable planet which helps in the equal growth of everyone who work closely.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the example of Dyson is relevant, the explanation of how competition leads to innovation is brief. Similarly, the points regarding cooperation are valid but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The essay covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of discussion is more consistent with a Band 6.0, as some points are under-developed and the overall argument lacks a sophisticated level of critical analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition from the Dyson example to the next paragraph is abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the use of cohesive devices is not always flexible, occasionally relying on simple connectors. The paragraphing is appropriate, contributing to the overall coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'innovation', 'industrialization', and 'sustainable planet'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'creative mind will experiment something different' (should be 'experiment with') and 'innovative things' (a vague collocation). The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('at workplace', 'at educational institution'), subject-verb agreement, and preposition usage ('seen a Dyson'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'cooperation is a sense where people feel belong'. While the errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. A greater variety of error-free complex structures would be needed to reach the Band 7 level.
