Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that some people think that competition at work, at school and in daily life is a beneficial thing rather than try to cooperate each other. In my opinion, I consider cooporative behaviour is too necessary at work, at educational institution and daily routine life.

On the one hand, most of the people think competition is a beneficial thing. In school life, competition play a crucial role in our academic performance. Without this, individuals are not seroius in their studies. At work and in daily routine its a harmfull for us. For instance, at work a cooperative behaviour is necessary. In addition, in daily routine people good behaviours and attitudes are affect to grow the families. Furthermore, with competition campanies and families are not grow. In my opinion its a detrimental impact in our lives.

On the other hand, some people believe that cooporative behaviour and mindset have established the companies. Many countries has a cutting edge technologies due to cooporative attitute. For instance, recent era is a artificial intelligence and machine learning era. Together with each other has become a developing nations such as China and South Korea.

In conclusion, although there are a minor arguments of against this, I strongly believe that we should cooperate with each other either its a educational sector or work place because its development a love, and unity among us. Morever, I would say that the main reason of successful nations is hardworking. They helped each other in every situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address all parts of the prompt by discussing both the views on competition and cooperation, and providing an opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. For instance, the second paragraph states that competition plays a crucial role in academic performance, but immediately contradicts this by claiming it is harmful at work and in daily life without fully explaining why or effectively weighing the two sides. The writer's position is stated, but the arguments are repetitive and lack robust support or clear examples. Consequently, the task response is underdeveloped, landing the essay firmly in the Band 5 territory for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an awareness of standard essay structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and weak cohesive links. For example, phrases like 'Without this' and 'its a harmfull for us' are vague and difficult to trace back precisely. Cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand' are used, but they often mechanically connect sentences that do not flow logically from one to the next. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within the body paragraphs is faulty, resulting in an overall coherence score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and heavily impacted by frequent spelling and word-choice errors. The student makes numerous basic errors, such as spelling 'cooperative' as 'cooporative', 'serious' as 'seroius', 'harmful' as 'harmfull', 'companies' as 'campanies', and 'attitude' as 'attitute'. There are also awkward collocations and grammatical form errors with vocabulary, such as 'daily routine life' and 'cooperative behaviour is necessary'. While the student attempts some broader topics like artificial intelligence, the vocabulary remains basic and repetitive, and the numerous errors cause noticeable distraction for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak throughout the response. Frequent errors are present, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'competition play', 'Many countries has'), incorrect preposition use ('arguments of against'), and tense or structure slips ('rather than try to cooperate each other'). Punctuation and article usage are also problematic, such as missing articles before singular nouns ('artificial intelligence and machine learning era'). Although the meaning can usually be deciphered with effort, the density of grammatical errors places the writing at Band 5.
