Student answer (Band 5.0)

compeptition whether in career aspects or edcation sector has become a vital factor in terms of sucess. some argue that competition makes a person more passionate aboug different aspect of life, while other argue that competition should be taken as a coorperation jn doing task together ragher than taking each other as competition . i partly beileve with the view that compitetion should be taken as a sort of mangung task together .

on one hand , more people belive that compotetion ia an essentail factor in shaping a persons charater .especially in work prospect competition can help individual to accomplish the desired outcome. For instance, an employee which is under competing presseure can work harder and attain the top position. while in education students will enhance their learning ability more clearly .

however,on the other side some people believe that people should engage into more cooperation task rather than just making each other feel being in competition. This will give them more sense of responsiblity which can foster their future skills . some people are more into taking competition as personal ivalry which can be detrimental for the society as a whole and can also be harmful for individual healthcare .

In conculsion, i frimly believe that competition should be taken as a source of facililation individual prospect in positive way rather than just evaluating only negative prospect. it is more like a balance in bwtween both the opinions.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both competition and cooperation and providing a personal opinion. However, the position is somewhat unclear and simplistic at times, stating that 'competition should be taken as a sort of mangung task together.' The ideas are relevant but remain rather under-developed and lack extension with concrete real-world examples. Furthermore, the length requirement has NOT been met: the response contains 240 words, which is 10 words short of the 250-word minimum. This results in a necessary penalty for under-length under IELTS guidelines, capping the task achievement score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is structured into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a traditional essay layout with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, progression is somewhat limited, and transitional phrases are occasionally mechanical or misused, such as 'on the other side' instead of 'on the other hand'. Referencing is also weak in places, such as 'an employee which is under competing presseure'. Paragraphing is present, but overall the logical flow between ideas lacks sophistication, placing the response firmly in the band 5 range.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating basic ideas, but it is marred by numerous spelling mistakes ('compeptition', 'edcation', 'aboug', 'coorperation', 'jn', 'ragher', 'beileve', 'compitetion', 'mangung', 'belive', 'compotetion', 'ia', 'charater', 'prospect', 'ivalry', 'healthcare', 'conculsion', 'frimly', 'facililation', 'bwtween') and word choice errors. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'detrimental', the high frequency of typographical errors and incorrect word forms significantly impedes readability and shows limited control over lexical features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical control is very weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and relative pronouns, such as 'an employee which is under competing presseure' and 'people should engage into more cooperation task'. Punctuation and capitalization are frequently ignored at the beginning of sentences and after commas. Errors are frequent and often cause difficulty for the reader, aligning the grammar with band 4.5 descriptors.
