Student answer (Band 5.0)
We should always cooperate rather than competing against each other but some people argued that competition at work, education and daily life is a good thing.
One the one hand, competition at work can lead us to career growth as we always remain productive about our goals. It also improves our learning skills and we can utilize our time and skills in our official work which will lead us to create a better future. For instance, competition in schools can be a good reason for better academic result, as students always wants to do better from one another.
On the other hand, being cooperative in life can create less enemy, As people were always minding their own business, but it can create laziness too. And for better career it will be a great impact on our future. So, cooperativeness can create peacefull life right now but it has some drawbacks in future.
To conclude, from the above discussion it is clearly said that being in a competitive at work, education an daily routine can lead us to make better future, whereas cooperative in life can create in activeness in our mind. In my opinion beaing competitive at everything is far better than cooperate with others. As it makes our social life better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response discusses both views regarding competition and cooperation and provides the writer's own opinion in the conclusion, thus addressing all parts of the task. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, relying on brief explanations rather than extended support. For example, the point about cooperation creating 'less enemy' is not fully expanded. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, containing only 208 words. This under-length impacts the overall development and completeness of the task, limiting the score to Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into paragraphs with a basic structure, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is hampered by abrupt transitions and mechanical cohesive devices such as 'One the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'for better career it will be a great impact on our future'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow of ideas needs tighter connection and more sophisticated transitions to reach higher bands. Therefore, a score of Band 5.0 is appropriate.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary for the task, attempting words and phrases like 'career growth', 'productive', and 'cooperativeness'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as 'create less enemy', 'peacefull life', 'in activeness', and 'beaing'. Spelling errors ('peacefull', 'beaing') and word-form issues are present throughout the text. While communication is not severely impeded, the limited range and frequent inaccuracies place this response firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional and relative clauses ('as we always remain productive...'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions (e.g., 'competition at work, education', 'students always wants to do better from one another', 'being in a competitive at work'). Faulty structures in complex sentences frequently cause difficulty for the reader. These persistent errors across both simple and complex sentences mean the performance aligns best with Band 5.0 descriptors.
