Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays competition has been increased at work, school and even in daily life. Some people argue that its a good thing to have competition in life while others say we ought not to compete with each other but cooperate. Considerating the benefits and drabacks of both approaches, I believe that healthy competition is good to thrive in life.
On the one hand, People enourage competition in everday life. This is because competition among teenagers motivates them in schoosl to get good grades and to do better in extra-curriculum activities. Same as a haelthy competition between two workers halps them to do good and get promotion quickly. Furthermore, people struggle more to get excellence in their life to show-off infront of their friends and family. Foe example, in Pakistan, many students end up becoming doctors and engineers just to win race of getting good grades in high and secondary schools.
On the other hand, it is being said that cooperation between people is more beneficial rather than competition. Cooperation no doubt is the holy equality and it was that only thing behind the existing progress of hymanity. Additionaly, if rivilary exceeds its limits it will become depressing for human and will become toxic just to defeat his or her opponent For instance, there are many cases of school gun shootings in America which was done by mostly mentally disturbed student. So, there will be some space of cooperation and friendly environment in schools and offices.
In my opinion, Competition could motivates us to get success in life and a playfull competition is healthy for students.
In conclusion, the existance of rivalry among co-workers, peers and students motivates them to get ahead in life but we also make sure this competition will remain in limits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that competition is beneficial and the view that cooperation should be prioritized. A clear personal position is presented in the introduction and reinforced in the body and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, such as mentioning academic motivation and workplace promotions on one hand, and historical progress and psychological toxicity on the other. However, some arguments lack full extension and suffer from minor over-generalizations or slightly tangential examples, such as citing American school shootings to illustrate the negative impacts of extreme rivalry. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task adequately, placing it firmly at a Band 6.5 level for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs addressing opposing viewpoints, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, though the structure is slightly disrupted by a very short, redundant opinion paragraph before the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are employed to guide the reader through the text, though some referencing and transitions feel a bit mechanical or abrupt. There are minor issues with logical flow, but the progression of ideas remains clear enough to follow without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'extra-curriculum activities', 'co-workers', and 'psychological toxicity' (implied). However, there are numerous word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'Considerating' instead of considering, 'drabacks' instead of drawbacks, 'enourage' instead of encourage, 'schoosl' instead of schools, 'haelthy' instead of healthy, 'halps' instead of helps, 'hymanity' instead of humanity, 'Additionaly', and 'rivilary'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the lexical score from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures such as 'This is because competition among teenagers motivates them...' and 'if rivalry exceeds its limits it will become depressing...'. Control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, such as article omissions ('its a good thing', 'win race'), incorrect verb tenses ('competition has been increased'), and preposition misuse ('get excellence in their life'). Punctuation is also flawed in places, such as missing commas after introductory transitional phrases. Despite these issues, the meaning remains largely clear to the reader.
