Student answer (Band 6.0)
The average number of individuals point out that competition at work, school and in day today life is a good thing. while others opine that masses should try to cooperate rather than competing against each other. This essay will intend to analyse both the perspectives. I, however, side with the former approach.
The major reason to support this view is that if there will be competitions in daily life this will not only improve critical thinking among students but also drives innovation in them. Moreover, This also helps to improve problem solving skills which is beneficial for future. For example, schools usually held different activities which improves interpersonal skills and team cordination among them.Secondly, having comeptition lead business firms to improve quality of their products and reduce waste to make profits. This give public more choices and improved quality of goods. For instance, Verka and Amul their rivalry is going on since 50 years due to them people do not face sharp rise in prices and get good quality products.
On other hand, if cooperation among students should be promoted then it will not only improve team coordination but also communication skills. Moreover, by sharing views and ideas of both sides may lead to creative solution. In addition, cooperation among work place will help employes to complete tasks faster.
To sum up, I agree with former perspective because competition help to improve skills among students and provide variety of goods to common people. Both approaches have solid points but former approach is more overpowering than other.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both competition and cooperation before clearly stating the writer's own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The main body paragraphs explore the benefits of competition, such as improving critical thinking, driving innovation, and reducing prices through market rivalry like 'Verka and Amul'. However, the development of ideas tends to be slightly superficial, particularly in the third paragraph regarding cooperation, which lacks specific examples. While the position is clear throughout, the support provided could be extended further to fully meet the higher band criteria. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the profile of a Band 6.0 response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is divided into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For example', and 'On other hand' are employed to connect ideas, though some are used mechanically or with minor grammatical slips (e.g., 'On other hand'). The logical progression is generally maintained, but referencing is sometimes imprecise, such as pronoun ambiguity in phrases like 'team cordination among them'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response, but overall cohesion lacks the flexibility required for a Band 7.0. Therefore, a Band 6.0 is appropriate for this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate ideas about education, business, and daily life. There are attempts to use less common items such as 'critical thinking', 'interpersonal skills', and 'rivalry', which show an awareness of topic-specific language. However, there are notable lexical errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'point out' instead of 'point out that', 'day today life', 'comeptition', and 'employes'. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures like 'if there will be competitions in daily life this will not only improve...'. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, such as tense and modal usage errors ('if cooperation among students should be promoted then it will...'), missing articles, and punctuation issues. Subject-verb agreement is also occasionally flawed, as seen in 'competition help to improve skills'. While these errors rarely impede overall comprehension, their frequency prevents the response from reaching a Band 6.5 or 7.0. A Band 6.0 accurately reflects this control.
