Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, containing only 176 words. This severely limits the candidate's ability to address all parts of the prompt adequately. While the student attempts to state a position ('I quibble from them and propund that competition... is a good thing'), the arguments are extremely repetitive, vague, and lack proper development or concrete examples. Phrases like 'cooperate more' are introduced without context or explanation, making it difficult to discern a fully formed discussion of both views. Consequently, the response falls into the lower bands for Task Achievement due to the under-length penalty and undeveloped ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The overall organisation is heavily compromised. Although paragraphing is attempted, the paragraphs are extremely short and disjointed. The flow of ideas is severely disrupted by repetitive phrases ('competition at work, at school') and nonsensical transitions such as 'The this essay will further elaborate my reasons for the same my upcoming paragraphs which i will lead to a logical conclusion.' Cohesive devices are misused or applied mechanically, creating a text that lacks a clear logical progression and makes it very difficult for the reader to follow the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive. The student attempts to use some advanced or less common words, but these are misused or severely misspelled, such as 'concurrent' instead of 'current', 'quibble from them' instead of 'differ from them', and 'propund' instead of 'propound'. Other phrases like 'dermits' (demerits) and 'neglated' (neglected) demonstrate serious issues with word formation and spelling. The lexical range is limited and inadequate for expressing precise meaning, frequently straining the reader's comprehension.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of poorly constructed simple and attempted complex sentences that contain frequent errors. Punctuation and spacing issues are pervasive throughout the text (e.g., missing spaces after commas: 'work,at school'). Errors in basic sentence structure, verb agreement, and preposition usage are found in almost every sentence, such as 'There are adequate evidence' (singular/plural mismatch) and 'sustainable the top-notch concrete reason' (incorrect word form and syntax). These errors frequently impede communication and obscure the intended meaning.
