Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both competition and cooperation, and it presents a clear personal opinion in favor of cooperation. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. For instance, the introduction is awkwardly phrased ('It is often argued whether certein individuals hold a view...'), and the supporting arguments in the body paragraphs rely heavily on vague repetition rather than fully extended, logical explanations. Phrases like 'focus on work at school and in daily life are better thing focus on competition' lack clarity and depth. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the ideas are under-developed, aligning best with Band 5 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into four distinct paragraphs, attempting an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor referencing, repetitive phrasing, and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices are often misused or inadequate; for example, the phrase 'To ilustrate' introduces sentences that are grammatically fractured and lack clear logical connection to the preceding claims. Additionally, paragraphing is applied mechanically rather than to guide the reader smoothly through distinct trains of thought. This level of organization and cohesive control corresponds to Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently circling back to words like 'competition', 'cooperate', 'school', and 'life' without showing a strong range of synonyms or sophisticated phrasing. There are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'certein', 'belive', 'argu', 'togeather', 'achive', 'efficiently', 'acomplish', 'limititions', 'ilustrate', and 'diciploine'. These inaccuracies sometimes cause confusion or strain for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor profile where lexical range is limited and noticeable errors occur.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the execution is heavily flawed. There is a high frequency of grammatical errors, including missing verbs, incorrect word forms, and broken clause structures, such as 'Moreover teacher diciploine' and 'Consquently people can improve the skills significantly.' Many complex sentence attempts result in faulty syntax that impedes communication. While the writer demonstrates some awareness of sentence boundaries, the constant grammatical mistakes place this performance securely at Band 5.
