Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some peoples believes that challenging between work ,at school and in our regular life is benificial while other believes that we adhere to teamwork with each other execpt competing again each other. This is becoming a widely major concern. In this essay, both view will be discussed and i will give my opinion.

In our society, people thinks that competing with your mate is crucial and benificial even in daily life. They believes that while assuming them as an competetor make you more resiliant and determined, it makes you more powerful that's groom your personality and you can put a lot of effort and hardwork in work for instance peoples who are employees, students have many fellows but if u thinks that u are competing against them then you put a lot more effort then a average mate it will work so u can acheived the required grades and the prominent personallity.

On the other hand, various peoples believe that we adhere to have teamwork and help each other for growth and grooming. It is more benificial then assuming other as a competetor it spreads love and a healthy coorprate system for example in exams of students, if one student give others the helpful articles and the note thats are actually quite meaningful to other so this help will converts into loves and coorperating bond and both student acheives good grades.

According to my perspective, boths views are double edge swords but somehow competiting with other enhance your personal focus, strenght and grooms the personality but if we coorperate others rather then competing against each other that's good for work but not for self grooming.

In conclude, competing with other is way more essential rather then teamwork and somehow it outweigh cooperating system.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on competition and cooperation, and the student presents a clear position throughout, concluding that competition outweighs cooperation. Ideas are introduced, such as the idea that competition builds resilience and determination, which is illustrated with an example about employees and students putting in more effort. However, the development of these ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive, with generalisations that lack depth. The reasoning can be difficult to follow due to linguistic issues, but the core requirements of the task are met. This aligns well with the Band 5 level descriptors, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, a personal perspective paragraph, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor cohesive devices and mechanical links such as 'In our society', 'On the other hand', and 'According to my perspective'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'them' and 'it', which makes it difficult to track what the writer is referring to. While there is an overall structure, the lack of smooth transitions and faulty cohesion place this firmly in the Band 5 category, where there is some organisation but no clear overall progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent word-choice errors and incorrect derivations (e.g., 'benificial' instead of beneficial, 'competetor' instead of competitor, 'personallity' instead of personality, and 'coorprate' instead of cooperative). The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'resiliant' and 'double edge swords', but these are marred by spelling and collocation errors. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors causing some difficulty for the reader, which corresponds directly to the Band 5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are persistent, frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Some peoples believes', 'people thinks', 'They believes'), pronoun usage, and punctuation. Run-on sentences and comma splices are common, such as in the second paragraph ('it works so u can acheived...'). While the meaning can sometimes be deciphered, frequent errors in grammar cause significant difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band. This performance is characteristic of Band 4, bordering on Band 5 due to some comprehensible segments.
