Student answer (Band 6.0)
Competition and coopreation are two fundamental aspects of human intreaction, while some people support competing in all aspects of life, others prefer to work together. In my opinion, while competition can drive individual achievements, cooperation is more beneficial for growth.
Firstly, competition pushes individual towards their goal and by providing motivation to excel in life. Similarly, in school and college it create enthusiasm to achieve good academic scores and using critical thinking in complex situation. Students who strives to be at top of their class, for instance need to put more effort and devote extra time in learning as compared to ordinary student. In addition, competition can encourage people to introduce productivity and innovation, while doing complex tasks and solving problems.
On the other hand, people who worked together in same environment can lead positive results. At school, coopreative learning methods, such as group projects, can help student to develop communication skills, leadership, empathy and teamwork. These skills are crucial for academic and personal development. In workplace, coopreation culture can enhance collabration amd lead to be more innovative a efficient problem-solving. Teams that work well together can produce better outcomes, as opposed to environments where competion creates pressure and burnout. A cutthroat atmosphere from excessive struggles and rivalries can result in a toxic culture where employees prioritize personal gain over collective achievement, ultimately harming the organization's overall performance.
In conclusion, while competition can drive individual achivement and innovation, i believe that working together contibute in long-term succees and well-being. Encouraging coopreative behvaiour, threfore can lead to harmonies and productive environment in schools, worlplaces and communiities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the views on competition and cooperation, while also providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. For example, the student writes, 'In my opinion, while competition can drive individual achievements, cooperation is more beneficial for growth.' The ideas are generally well-extended and supported with relevant examples, such as mentioning group projects in schools and collaborative environments in workplaces. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise slightly, and a few points lack deeper exploration, fitting comfortably into the Band 7 descriptor where all parts are addressed with a clear position and extended ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Information and ideas are divided into coherent paragraphs, with each paragraph having a clear central topic, such as the benefits of competition in the second paragraph and the advantages of cooperation in the third. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well, including transitional phrases like 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, there are minor issues with referencing and repetitive cohesive structures, and some phrasing feels slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, maintaining a logical flow from introduction to conclusion, which firmly aligns the response with Band 6.5 to 7.0, supported by clear overall progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and attempts less common items such as 'enthusiasm', 'critical thinking', 'collabration', and 'burnout'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, including 'coopreation' instead of 'cooperation', 'intreaction', 'collabration', 'achivement', 'contibute', 'succees', 'behvaiour', and 'harmonies'. While these spelling and word-choice errors do not seriously impede communication, they recur frequently enough to prevent the score from reaching a Band 7. The vocabulary is minimally sufficient and appropriate for the context, warranting a solid Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as 'Students who strives to be at top of their class...'. There are, however, several grammatical errors and awkward structures, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Students who strives'), missing articles ('at top of their class'), and punctuation inconsistencies. Despite these errors in grammar, they rarely impede communication, and the meaning remains clear throughout the essay. Because there is a reasonable mix of complex sentence structures alongside frequent non-systematic errors, this performance aligns closely with Band 6.
