Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays competition has become popular at school and at work. Many arguments claim that competition while study and work in daily life is a positive thing. While others believe that cooperate is good option instead of competing against each other. This essay will discuss both prespectives and provide a reasoned and opinion. I believe that cooperate is a good option because there are benefits for individuals.
On one hand, competition while study and work has benefits for students, employe and company. It gives motivation for them to become the winner and get reward like book and money. For example, in car company when one of the worker reached the target because selling more than two car in one day. She will received big bonus from the company. As a result both of them proud of them self and the company happy because received huge income.
On the other hand, cooperating is one of significant methods to make goals and relationship in school and work place environment become positive. It helps the groups of worker listen, sharing opinion and try to respect each other by listening. For instance, student who work in groups and they share their opinion. Not only that but cooperate also can make the task easier and finished quicker. As a result, they got more knowledge and more efficient result.
To conclude and offer my position, there are convincing arguments and both for and against competition. However, I certainly favour to the latter opinion because it is really good for the residents result and relationships.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that competition is positive and the view that cooperation is preferable, while also stating a clear personal opinion. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the ideas are somewhat under-developed and lack depth of explanation. For example, the argument supporting competition is supported by a rather simplistic example about a car salesperson selling more than two cars in one day. Similarly, the points on cooperation focus on basic group work dynamics without exploring broader societal or psychological implications. Because the ideas are presented in a generalized manner without full extension, this performance aligns well with Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Transitional markers such as On one hand, On the other hand, and To conclude are used to guide the reader through the text. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrase 'both of them proud of them self' where pronoun referencing is muddled. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and there is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction of both views to the specific arguments and final stance. These features reflect the characteristics of a Band 6 performance.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'perspectives', 'motivation', and 'significant methods'. However, there are notable word-choice and morphological errors throughout the text, such as 'competition while study' instead of studying, 'employe' instead of employees, 'cooperate' used as a noun instead of cooperation, and 'residents result' instead of resulting outcomes. While these errors are frequent, they do not severely impede communication as the writer's general meaning remains clear. This lexical control is characteristic of Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures through conditional or subordinate clauses, such as 'when one of the worker reached the target because selling more than two car in one day'. However, these complex structures are frequently faulty, containing numerous grammatical errors including subject-verb agreement issues ('worker reached', 'She will received'), pluralization mistakes ('two car'), and awkward phrasing. Punctuation and basic grammar errors are common, though they rarely impede overall comprehension. This balance of mixed structures and frequent structural inaccuracies places the response firmly at Band 5.
