Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response attempts to discuss both views regarding competition and cooperation, presenting basic ideas such as how competition motivates employees and how cooperation prevents stress and depression. However, the student has failed to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, containing only 214 words. Consequently, the ideas are severely under-developed and the conclusion is left unfinished. The student does provide a personal opinion, but the overall development remains partial and superficial. Therefore, the task achievement is limited by the lack of sufficient length and depth, aligning with a band 4.5 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay attempts to structure the arguments using basic paragraphing and transitional phrases such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, the overall progression is disrupted by the abrupt ending at 'in conclution'. Cohesive devices are sometimes used mechanically or inaccurately, such as 'becouse it can be push our work and stady skills' and 'And some how its not bad thing'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and paragraphing is incomplete due to the missing concluding sentences. These issues reflect a band 5 level of coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent spelling errors such as 'repedly', 'evovelving', 'thet', 'grwoing', 'ganreting', 'uneqwalyti', 'stady', 'exampal', 'compny', 'employes', 'geve', 'complet', 'frist', 'bones', 'motivet', 'inspiret', 'there' instead of 'their', 'quikly', 'inhence', 'lode', 'dipretion', 'bater', 'grate', 'naver', and 'conclution'. While the writer attempts some less common words like 'cooperation' and 'motivation', the high density of spelling mistakes and lexical limitations strain the reader and restrict the score to a band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatically, the response demonstrates a very limited range of structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures are consistently flawed, for example, in sentences like 'who will complet this task frist and take a good result who will get bones or somthing.' There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and sentence construction. Punctuation is also neglected, particularly in the incomplete conclusion. These pervasive errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and reflect a band 4.0 level of grammatical control.
