Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is believed by a group of individuals that competition at workplace, at school, and in everyday life is a good thing, while others argue that is it more essential to cooperate more, rather than competing against each other. This essay will discuss both perspectives, before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why people believe that competition is a good way at work, at school, and in daily life. Initially, competition at work or school, individuals can proof them a best person. Many school's students enjoy to engage in competition because they find it more interest and it help them develop their cognitive knowledge. For example, some developing countries, provide plenty of competition such as sports, quez, and reading competition and then they achieved prize. As a result, learners can gain some real-life experience and it provide them reward. Additionally, through working competition, people may completely attention on their work placement and they can enhance their salary. Apart from this, daily life competition, people can increase their ability and they can solve any kinds of difficult work.
On the other hand, It is more crucial for individuals try to cooperate more rather than competing against each other. Cooperate work privide lots of facilities like friendly environment, supportive colleagues, and good relationship with other staffs. For instance, some international companies, senior manager suggest completed company's work with a cooperate instead of competing against each other. Consequently, they can build strong relationship with others and learn many thing to each other. Furthermore, cooperate work helps people to overcome difficult situation.
In conclosion, although competition is a good ways at work or school because it helps them to achieve some unexpected thing and people find it more fasciniting when they engage in competition, I believe that people should cooperate more instead of competing against each other because its helps to build strong relationship and provide friendly or supportive environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the views on competition and cooperation, and the student successfully presents their own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, such as discussing cognitive development in schools and the supportive environment fostered by cooperation in companies. However, the development of these ideas is often limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the examples provided, such as 'some developing countries, provide plenty of competition such as sports, quez, and reading competition', are general and under-developed, lacking clear explanation of how they directly support the broader argument. The position is clear throughout, but the reasoning needs greater extension to reach higher band descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear four-paragraph structure introduction, body paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. Logical progression is attempted using standard transition markers like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, sentences in the second body paragraph feel disjointed ('Initially, competition at work or school, individuals can proof them a best person'), and referencing is occasionally unclear. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, but the management of cohesive devices lacks the flexibility and smooth flow required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common topics-specific items such as 'cognitive knowledge', 'supportive colleagues', and 'international companies'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'proof them a best person' instead of 'prove themselves', 'quez' instead of 'quiz', 'working competition' instead of 'workplace competition', and 'cooperate work' instead of 'collaborative work'. Spelling errors like 'fasciniting' and 'conclosion' also occur. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to a solid Band 5.5 or 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in verb forms, prepositions, and article usage. Examples include 'argues that is it more essential', 'individuals try to cooperate more' missing 'to', 'manager suggest completed company's work', and 'its helps'. Many attempts at complex structures result in faulty syntax, which places a noticeable burden on the reader at times, although the general meaning remains recoverable. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but grammatical slips are too frequent to award a higher score.
