Student answer (Band 5.0)

Few individuals thought that contest at job, at institute and in daily routine is a excellent thing. I partialy think that we ought to be collaborate with each other, also having a rivalry among people is a great think because it will encourage our potential.

Firstly, many people have a opinion that we shall be helpful mutually because this will makes efforts more benificial in a working field and in result we get our destiny as soon as possible. For example, a group study is way more efficient and strong than person who study alone because gathering the information from others will makes you knowledgeable human. We can see all around many debates are being held with a comunity as we know the value of teamwork like in a dance task group of members doing more beautifuly than others.

Secondly, i agree that having an opponent will also add a booster to success because growth gives confidence and makes us better human being in any situation of our life to face any hurdle and this is how you will became a different creature from others. For instance, during a match rival sledges other team and the output is team will response with more anger because human ego can do anything for win rather than any peacefull nature. Competitors in our education system will help us to get more grades as we know the worth of position number one.

In conclusion, i agree that having an opponent will gives more energy to our mind and will improve our focus also i have faith on this that teamwork will also release our tension expand our efforts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both views regarding competition and cooperation and presents a clear personal opinion. However, the ideas are relatively basic and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on teamwork is supported by simple examples, such as group studying and dancing, but lacks depth and detailed elaboration. The student attempts to cover all parts of the prompt as required, but the arguments remain somewhat superficial, placing this response at Band 5.0. To improve, the student needs to extend their arguments with more thorough explanations, specific real-world examples, and a more structured exploration of why both competition and cooperation are valuable in different contexts.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, which shows an attempt at basic paragraphing. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and unclear referencing. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often inaccurate or mechanical, such as 'Firstly,' followed immediately by 'Secondly,' without smooth logical flow. Furthermore, sentences like 'human ego can do anything for win rather than any peacefull nature' lack clear cohesive links to preceding statements. Paragraphing is rudimentary, resulting in an overall arrangement that is coherent only at a basic level, corresponding to Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and contains numerous word-choice errors and non-standard collocations. Examples include 'contest at job, at institute' instead of 'competition at work and in education', 'partialy think' instead of 'partially believe', and 'different creature' instead of 'different person'. There are also frequent spelling and morphological errors, such as 'benificial', 'comunity', 'peacefull', and 'became'. While the meaning can generally be discerned despite these noticeable errors, the restricted range and frequent inaccuracies place the lexical resource firmly at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the positive interpretation of minimally adequate communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic conjunctions. Attempts at complex sentences often result in severe structural errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'group study is way more efficient and strong than person who study alone'. Grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('human will makes you'), tense inconsistencies, and missing articles. These errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and mean that error-free sentences are rare. This performance aligns with the Band 4.5 descriptors, meriting a Band 4.5 score.
