Student answer (Band 5.0)

Be compitetive in professional and academic life is appriciated, said by a group of people. however, others asume that, team up is more good rather than to be a compitator. In this essay i will expain both of thses issues along with my own opinion.

First of all, a healthy competition is good among colleagues and class mates which provokes individuals to achieve their ambitions, it ehances the chance of promotion and to get high grades in academics. Furthermore, sometimes some firms announce bonus or some reward in short times to fullfill their tasks so that with no intensions everyone has to take part in that competition to prove themselves. For instance, a very famous school name, Beaconhouse give rewards to teachers annually who has less leaves or whose result would be impressive, they all will get reward, so people intentionally or unintentionally start competating with each other.

On the other hand, an army of people convienced that, being in a team is giving boost to their work because multiple minds, multiple innovative ideas can work productively togather. In additin another reason could be, working collectively togather can cover those persons n students who are not very expert in something. For example, in unversities teachers are advised to give group assignment and presentaion to have better results.

In conclusion, i have discussed both of these point of views but in my prespective both of the practices would have been great significance. Sometimes being a group give more good results but its also healthy to get success sololy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the views that competition is beneficial and that cooperation is preferable, while also providing a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and lacks depth. For instance, the arguments regarding workplace and academic competition are supported by basic examples, such as Beaconhouse school giving rewards, but these points are not fully extended. The writer's position is discernible throughout the essay, but the overall task fulfilment suffers from a lack of thorough elaboration. Because all core prompt requirements are addressed, the response aligns best with Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organized into four paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a basic attempt at logical sequencing, moving from competitive views to cooperative views. However, the progression is frequently hindered by inadequate or inaccurate cohesive devices. For example, transitions like 'First of all,' and 'On the other hand,' are used, but phrasing such as 'In additin another reason could be,' is awkward and repetitive. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is often faulty, with run-on sentences and unclear referencing. These issues place the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that impede communication at times. Examples of noticeable errors include 'compitetive', 'appriciated', 'asume', 'team up' used as a noun phrase, 'ehances', 'intensions', 'competating', 'convienced', 'togather', 'unversities', 'sololy', and 'prespective'. While the student attempts to use some less common vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'professional', 'innovative', and 'collectively', the high frequency of lexical and spelling inaccuracies prevents the response from reaching a higher band. This performance is consistent with a Band 4.5 descriptor level, rounded to 5.0 based on positive marking for attempt.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak throughout the text. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Examples include 'Be compitetive in professional and academic life is appriciated', 'whose result would be impressive, they all will get reward', and 'both of the practices would have been great significance.' Furthermore, capitalization errors like starting sentences or pronouns with lower-case letters ('i') are prevalent. These frequent structural and mechanical errors cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a standard matching Band 4.5, awarded as a 5.0 due to attempts at multi-clause structures.
