Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often believed that, the competitions of workplaces, schools and daily life activities are good initiatives, when another group of people thinks cooperating is better than competiting against each other. I believe, cooperativeness helps and creates sympathy to others, while competition creates envy and jealousy. However, the competition should be healthy at schools or workplaces.
First of all, Regarding the competition, competition compares the persons abilities and continuously judge them. whenever, its about searching of the best person, the others feels judged as not best. So, everyone tries to become best one day. In this competition they always put themselves into a boundary of battle field where they need to win and every other person seems enemy even if they are friends of colleauges. The scenario become more painful when two friends put their best efforts in a similar subject, unfortuantely, one awards with champion and other get nothing because of lack of 1 or 2 marks. If the student is sensitive, this result causes him to rethink about his capabilities.
Secondly, Cooperativeness creates a great value in team works. Instead of being enemy, if people start work as a team, any kind of problems can be solve. Together people can accept their faults and can rectify them, which creates a learning environment. In a team, all are equal and provide same efforts towards a specific task, they become friends and rather than a battle field, they have sympathy for other team mate; which creates a positive work place vibes.
In conclusion, I would like to say, Instead of being ene we should be support each other, rather than

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both views regarding competition and cooperation and presents a clear personal opinion in the introduction and body paragraphs. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on how competition makes people feel judged and creates a 'boundary of battle field' is introduced but lacks fully realised extension or well-chosen real-world examples. The conclusion also trails off abruptly mid-sentence, leaving the argument incomplete. To achieve a higher band, the ideas need to be more fully explored with deeper analysis and stronger support, and the essay must be brought to a logical and complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays a basic overall organisation with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, the body paragraphs focusing on competition and cooperation, and the unfinished conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'First of all,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion.' However, the progression of ideas is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrase 'the competitions of workplaces' or the abrupt transition in the final sentence. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a cohesive concluding thought hinders the overall flow. To improve, you should ensure that cohesive links guide the reader smoothly between ideas without feeling forced, and always complete your concluding arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic ideas about the topic, featuring terms such as 'initiatives,' 'sympathy,' 'capabilities,' and 'rectify.' However, the range is limited and repetition occurs, such as frequent reuse of the words 'competition,' 'best,' and 'team.' There are also noticeable word choice and spelling errors, including 'colleauges' instead of colleagues, 'ene' instead of enemies, and awkward phrasings like 'unfortuantely, one awards with champion.' These lexical slips and spelling inaccuracies occasionally cause strain for the reader. To move up to a higher band, you need to incorporate a wider and more precise range of vocabulary, including less common academic collocations and synonyms, while exercising greater accuracy in word formation and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but attempts at more complex constructions frequently contain grammatical errors. Examples include awkward punctuation and phrasing such as 'It is often believed that, the competitions of workplaces... are good initiatives, when another group of people thinks' and 'whenever, its about searching of the best person, the others feels judged.' There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article use, such as 'the other get nothing' and 'every other person seems enemy.' These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally pause and can impede comprehension. To achieve a higher level, you must improve grammatical control over complex sentence patterns and reduce basic errors in punctuation, verb forms, and pluralisation.
