Student answer (Band 5.5)

The topic deals with the two different perspective of competition and cooperate nature of peoples although, both the point of view have their own side and preks however, the word competition and cooperate have positive and negative aspects and this essay deals with both the word how they effect at work, school and their daily life.

To begin with, competition in a healthy way alwasy have a positive effects at work, school and daily life however,it does mean without being compititive we can't achieve our goal in work and school. We should spread awareness among the peoples that being competitive is a good thing but still have a sense of knowledge, in competitiveness they should not cross the boundry and don't try to play dirty plays just to win it.Although, being cooperative with other always is a good option rather than being competiive because cooperating with other always end up to favour both the parties and doesn't lead to any mishappening .

According,to me being competitive and being cooperative is depend on the person what they want to be between them.but I do belive that being competitive at work and school could help them to achieve in goals if they don't cross the line of rigorous competitiveness. For example, at school they announced a the competition of race and every participants have a compititiveness among them it can help them to win the race but sometimes this compititiveness leads them to play dirty tricks to win the race where as at office they accounced a group work and the office members shows their competitiveness in it they are going to loss the task but if they try to compotate with each other and help each other in a gropu project then they can easily finishe their project wothout any hurdels.

To conclude this i would say competitiveness and cooperation always choose accordingly to the task or work they have been assigned. So they can perform well in their task.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both competition and cooperation and offering a personal opinion. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, which keeps the score at this level. While the writer attempts to explain how competition affects work and school, the explanations rely heavily on repetition and general assertions rather than fully articulated points. For instance, the mention of a race at school and a group project at the office are relevant examples, but they remain superficial and lack extended analysis. The position is stated, but the overall development of the arguments remains constrained by simplistic reasoning and circular explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organization with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are used, but they tend to be mechanical and repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on transitional phrases like 'To begin with', 'Although', and 'To conclude this i would say'. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronoun use like 'they' and 'them', making it difficult for the reader to consistently track who or what is being referred to across clauses.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common items such as 'competitiveness', 'cooperative', and 'hurdels', but these attempts are frequently marred by noticeable errors in word form, spelling, and word choice. There are recurrent lexical inaccuracies, such as writing 'cooperate nature' instead of 'cooperative nature', 'preks' instead of 'perks', and 'compotate' instead of 'compete'. These errors, along with missing spaces after punctuation and basic spelling mistakes, cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical range to a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on long, run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions or punctuation errors. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to frequent grammatical errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement errors like 'competition ... alwasy have', missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and persistent punctuation flaws such as missing spaces after commas and periods. Simple structures are controlled with varying success, but the high density of structural errors prevents the writing from achieving a higher level of grammatical accuracy.
