Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the task only partially. While the prompt asks you to discuss both views on competition versus cooperation and give your own opinion, your ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, in the second paragraph, you mention that competition enhances ability and confidence, but you fail to extend or support this with clear examples, writing vaguely that 'pupils are already work this statements'. Your position is stated in the introduction, but the reasoning throughout the body paragraphs is unclear and repetitive, preventing full development of the arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation, including an introduction and conclusion, but no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or overused, such as starting multiple sentences with 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'Consequently' in a mechanical way. Referencing is also unclear at times, particularly with pronouns like 'this view' and 'these challenges', which lack clear antecedents. While paragraphs are present, the internal flow within paragraphs is disjointed and lacks logical links, leading to an overall choppy structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'corsiderable', 'benificial', 'argu', 'partailly', 'cosidering', and 'activety'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a weak grasp of less common vocabulary. Attempts to use academic phrasing often result in awkward collocations, such as 'competition in field' or 'loose their confidance'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a very limited range of structures, and your attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, verb forms, and sentence construction that can cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'Both view have a valid point, i partailly agree', 'a number of people not to giude easily', and 'ensure that create some events'. Punctuation and subject-verb agreement are also inconsistently handled, limiting your control over basic syntactic patterns.
