Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

This response responds to the task only minimally, which is reflected in the length requirement not being met. As noted in the instructions, 22 words copied from the prompt were not counted, and the student's actual text is severely cut short at 133 words, falling well under the 250-word minimum. Because of this extreme under-length, the discussion of both views is barely initiated, and the student's opinion is only briefly stated at the outset ('I agree with both opinions') without any meaningful development or conclusion. Ideas are extremely limited and cut off mid-sentence at the end of the second paragraph ('And in daily life, if any one has any skills'), meaning the prompt is addressed only in a very partial and fragmented manner.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently across the text as a whole. While the essay begins with a standard introductory frame, the organisational structure breaks down rapidly. Paragraphing is attempted, but the second paragraph becomes a chaotic run of loosely connected thoughts about schools and workplaces that lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes faulty, such as 'To begin, they are several advantages' and 'And the others people', which fail to create smooth logical links. Furthermore, referencing is weak and confusing, leaving the reader struggling to follow how one idea leads to the next, particularly since the essay stops abruptly in the middle of a thought.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, employing common words that strain the reader's comprehension at times. There are frequent lexical errors in word form, word choice, and collocation throughout the short text. Examples include 'more cooperate' instead of 'cooperate more', 'others people', 'major benefit' paired with plural verb agreement issues elsewhere, 'doing their best skills in works', and 'deliever their hundred percent efforts to teaching'. The spelling of 'deliever' and 'employeer' also highlights limitations in lexical control. While the writer attempts some topic-related vocabulary like 'organisation', 'competition', and 'awards', the high density of inaccurate word choices and non-standard collocations restricts the range to a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and attempted complex structures that contain frequent errors which distort meaning and cause difficulty for the reader. There are persistent errors in verb forms, tenses, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'they are several advantages' (instead of 'there are'), 'students or teachers try to doing', and 'students... recieve award'. Article and pluralisation errors are also common, including 'in board exams', 'best tacher award', and 'At work places... peoples competing to each other'. Punctuation and basic sentence construction flaws are evident throughout, meaning that error-free sentences are rare, placing this aspect of the writing firmly at the lower end of the scale.
