Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response sits at this level because the writer addresses the task only partially and the length requirement is not met. The response contains 198 words, which is 52 words short of the 250-word minimum, and an additional 47 words copied directly from the task prompt were not counted. Furthermore, the discussion of both views is very limited and under-developed. While the writer attempts to present their own opinion, the ideas are repetitive and lack sufficient support or examples, such as the vague statement 'both are correct' at the end of the text. To reach a higher level, the writer must meet the minimum word count, avoid copying prompts, and fully develop reasons and examples for each perspective.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text demonstrates some basic organisation with paragraph breaks, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. The writer attempts to structure the essay with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the conclusion is incomplete. Cohesive devices are repetitive and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'In first view point' and 'Second point of view'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in the sentence 'Whereas, cooperate is also a good thing because is some places all workers help us to each other'. To improve, the writer needs to ensure logical linking between sentences and paragraphs, and use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical issues include 'instand' instead of 'instead', 'eassy', 'currect', 'cooperate' used as a noun, and repetitive phrasing like 'competition at work' and 'try to batter'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but inaccurate collocations and word forms, such as 'enhance our selary' and 'good performed', hinder precision. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical range and eliminate spelling and word-choice errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent grammatical errors. Attempts at complex or compound structures are often faulty, such as in 'when individuals competition each other so, they are improving our abilities'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, prepositions, articles, and agreement, including 'workers help us to each other', 'many students competition at work that how can done easily', and 'while the assoicates cooperate to each other so they done every work on time'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to increase grammatical accuracy and use a wider variety of correct sentence structures.
